Hymn of the New Asia

Sermon for Sunday August 2, 2009
Richard S. Kirby, b. 19497/31/09

Dedicated to our Asian heroes: Cirilio Cena, Bishop Gootla Dorababu, Bishop Gootla
Nelson, Bavana Elisha Paul, Romeo Romeo, Anand and Ishdenanda Senapati and their
wives, children and grandchildren.

1 Jesu, my Savior, Bless our flock,
For Filipinos be the Rock;
For Andhra Pradesh give your Light;
Heaven's Ray Bright.

2 Jesu Thou Savior of the World;

Round Asia your banner curled;

The Great High Hope of rich and poor;

Asia's soul's Law.

3 Hyderabad deserves its Saint;
City be without sin or taint
Into the Orient comes your Star
Indus* new Car

4 When Satan hates the Asian child,

We rest in love so meek and mild;

Then, inexhaustibly Spirit-led;

we raise the dead.

5 Cebu City and its folks dear
Cebuano shorn of fear
Phillipines' identity new,
Christ its new view.

6 Jesu, through You Asia is reborn
Gone the despair and looks forlorn;
Holy continent finds its Heart:
Asia's new Start.
