Having experienced profound feelings of contentment, utter bliss, and total feelings of importance in his "dead" state, Ray didn't want to go back...
When God said again that he needs to return, his soul was like being stuffed back to his body and he recalled the feeling was extremely gross and painful.
When he woke up in the hospital, he told his mother about the experience who arranged for a meeting with a priest. Ray was crushed when he was told by the priest that the whole experience might have been just a trick of the devil since he never mentioned he met Jesus during his out-of-body experience...
Now Ray is an artist and he's just "dancing" with life - awaiting death with a big smile knowing that death is wonderful as per his experience.
