I think it's the most amazing cat I've ever seen. The yellow and blue eyes are just gorgeous on the snow white fur.
This condition is called "heterochromia" and is caused by the dominant white gene preventing melanin from overcoming the yellow, or in some cats - brown eye during development.
The absence of melanin in one eye results in the blue color. The blue eye is not caused by pigments, but results in the scattering of light in the melanin deficient iris.
I learned this condition is most common among white cats.
It is a common belief that cats with this condition are also deaf on the blue side, but that is rare.
Cats with this condition are highly prized in some countries especially in Turkey where odd eyed cats are specifically bred for commercial purposes...
